Rain and snowfall end dry spell in Balochistan
Met Office has predicted rain for next week
QUETTA:
Many cities of Balochistan including the provincial capital received the first winter rain and snow during wee hours of Friday, breaking a prolonged spell of dry weather in the province. The change in climate has resulted in a decrease in temperature.
Barkhan, Lasbela, Ziarat, Harnai, and Dukki received 3mm rain and the rain is expected in Balochistan again next week, according to the Met Office. Meanwhile, Ziarat, Quetta, and Sanjavi saw the season’s first snowfall.
The rain exposed the government and city managers’ false claims regarding sewage system as many streets were filled with dirty rainwater due to blocked sewage lines.
Many citizens were seen enjoying the snow in the streets late at night.
The short shower of rain and snowfall turned the weather more chilly in many parts of Balochistan while the temperature dropped down below 0°Celsius. On Saturday morning and afternoon dozens of citizens were seen visiting the food streets to warm their selves with fish and meat.

“Fortunately the city has received rain and snow together after witnessing drought and dry weather, indeed today we are glad and enjoying the chilled weather with friends,” said Pir Muhammad resident of Quetta.
Many feeders in the Quetta and other cities got tripped due to rain forcing people to bare electricity breakdown for hours.
Another resident of Colvin Road Muhammad Ishaq said: “We can’t come outside of our residence as half of our gate is filled with dirty water. The government should take action upon floating sewage lines which has been causing difficulties for the citizens”.
