QUETTA:
The provincial government has sought to increase funding for all municipal committees and union councils while efforts are also being made to digitalise the local government department solving people’s issues in a robust manner.

This plan was shared by the provincial Minister for Local Government (LG) and Rural Development Sardar Saleh Bhootani while talking to reporters in Uthal on Saturday.

He expressed hope that the LG system in Balochistan would come up to the expectations of the public and prove to be exemplary for other provinces.

“The incumbent local body government would soon complete its tenure and we have been working to bring an effective LG system which is capable of solving people’s need in a proper way. And, digitalisation of the system is part of that effort,” said the minister.

Saleh added: “We seek to increase the funds of all municipal committees and union councils”.

He also said the pending government projects would be completed on time because the management has been directed to finish all projects in the given time frame.

“I have been visiting the areas to monitor the progress over development projects and public complaints because the incumbent government has pledged to resolve public issues at their doorsteps,” said Saleh.

On the absence of basic facilities in urban areas, he said that close watch has been kept on the prevailing circumstances and the provincial seeks to enhance direct contact with the public so that their issues are resolved on priority basis.

To a question, the minister said he was aware of the basic problems in his constituency pledging to make sure of providing basic facilities including water, health, and education.

Meanwhile, Saleh met a veteran tribal leader of Winder Mir Bahadur Khan Jamot with whom he discussed political and other issues.
