KUNDIAN:
The staff of the Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has failed to deliver electricity bills to consumers on time in Kundian, Express News has learnt.

Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) consumers in Kundian and its adjoining areas are facing troubles getting their electricity bills on time.

People complain that the FESCO staff, instead of delivering the bills at their doors, just dump them at shops in the relevant areas and go away. As a result, many electricity bills are lost and consumers have to pay fines of thousands of rupees in next month’s bill.

PM House, Presidency face power cut for non-payment of bills

Umar Ejaz Khan, an affected citizen, told Express News that there are cases in which the electricity supply to homes of consumers was disconnected due to nonpayment. He said the reason behind this was that many consumers failed to receive their bills on time.

He added that in a bid to avoid such a situation, people were compelled to pay bribe to the staff of the power utility to avoid power disconnection.

Similarly, another consumer, Mazhar Hussain said they lodged several complaints to concerned authorities over the matter but to no avail. He said it was unfortunate that the staff appointed to distribute bills in the area was not performing its duties sincerely.

Meanwhile, locals demanded FESCO officials take notice of the situation and action against its irresponsible employees.
