The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) will facilitate the Pakistan Furniture Council in organising solo exhibitions in gulf countries to exploit the potential in Muslim nations, said Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile, Industrial Production and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood.

Talking to a delegation of PFC on Friday, he emphasised upon the immediate need for proper finishing of products and uplifting the quality at par with international standards.

"I am happy to note that massive potential exists in the furniture industry and the country can export traditional furniture products round the globe," he lauded.

Dawood assured complete assistance from the part of the government for improvement in finishing, designing and quality of furniture.

The government would additionally cooperate for training of woodworkers on modern scientific lines to meet the international standard, he insisted.

The suggestions would be discussed with the adviser prior to being placed before PM Imran Khan for approval. The PFC chief appreciated the adviser for financial and technical assistance to revitalise Pakistan's ailing industries especially furniture sector, which was gravely ignored by previous governments.
