Then Alia was seen making merry with Ranbir's mother Neetu Kapoor, father Rishi Kapoor, sister Riddhima Kapoor-Sahni and niece Samiera Kapoor as well, the pictures of which were shared on Instagram by them all.

No wonder there are reports that the couple is getting engaged after the release of their fantasy fiction Brahmastra, directed by Ayan Mukerji.
According to Filmfare, Neetu wants Ranbir to exchange rings with Alia in June 2019. However, the youngsters want to take it slow and easy and have decided to take get engaged post-Brahmastra's release.
In fact, at the trailer launch of Gully Boy, Alia's co-star Ranveer Singh hinted at the couple's romance. When she was asked about her experience of working with Ranveer and Ranbir, she said that both are special to her.

To this, Ranveer cut in by saying, "One (Ranbir) is extra special and the other one (Ranveer) is less special."
Unlike his past girlfriends, Ranbir's mum is very fond of Alia, which is quite evident through her Instagram posts. It was at Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja's wedding reception that the couple made their first public appearance together. Earlier, both Ranbir and Alia had categorically said that marriage was not on their minds as their relationship was new. They had both stated that marriage is something that should come naturally to them.

Recently, Ranbir's sister gifted the couple a gold-plated ring with their initials 'AR' written on it with diamonds. The development further added fuel to the rumours of the duo getting married soon.
While an official confirmation is still awaited, it would be interesting to see if Alia and Ranbir would come out in public to share that they are indeed taking their relationship one step forward.
