‘More Blood-More Life’: World Blood Donor Day today

Scores of countries will observe World Blood Donor Day on Tuesday aiming to raise awareness about the need for safe blood donations and to thank the voluntary donors for their life-saving gifts to the needy. The theme for World Blood Donor Day 2011 is, “More blood-More life.” This theme reinforces the urgent need for more people all over the world to become life-savers by volunteering to donate blood regularly. Like other organisations, World Health Organization (WHO) has planned a number of activities to mark the importance of voluntary non remunerated blood donation in Pakistan considering the importance of the day.
