Peshawar DC court reopens after 19 years
Will deal with Land Revenue and other cases falling under deputy commissioner’s jurisdiction
PESHAWAR:
Deputy Commissioner Court re-opened after 19 years in provincial capital on Thursday. “Land Revenue cases and other relevant matters which fall under the jurisdiction of deputy commissioner Peshawar will be dealt with in the newly established court which will provide maximum relief to the people,” said Peshawar Division Commissioner Shahab Ali Shah has formally inaugurated the court of Deputy Commissioner in Peshawar Kachery.
DC Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh apprised the attendees of the inauguration ceremony about the historical facts regarding Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Court Room which dates back to the days of British Raj.
While commenting on the occasion, he stated that in the year 2001, the office of the deputy commissioner was abolished and was re-established in the year 2013, since then there was no formal court room and allied offices in District Peshawar.
Applicants and the general public were suffering heavily from the said situation, therefore the new court room complex has been established to facilitate the masses, Commissioner Shah added. While he was also accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shahid Ali Khan, Assistant Commissioner Sara Rehman, , All Additional Assistant Commissioners, Tehsildars and other officers and officials of DC Peshawar offices were present at the occasion.
