His sinister obsession with Guinevere Beck made him do many things that would raise eyebrows... yet girls can't seem to stop swooning over him. However, Penn seems to have made it his mission to make sure everyone knows that whatever Joe was upto was NOT okay!

In a series of tweets yesterday, the actor addressed some comments made by fans, "Kidnap me please," requested one user. "No thanks," was Penn's response. Another wrote, "Penn Badgley was sexy as Dan but lord Joe is a whole new level," to which the star quipped, ".... of problems, right?"

Many people obviously see the similarities between Dan and Joe, and this includes Penn himself. One user wrote, "If Penn Badgley keeps playing stalker dudes obsessed with reading and writing, I have no choice but to believe he is in real life. Shady..." Penn responded humorously, stating he should really speak to his agent about the kind of roles he gets.

The star constantly reminded his fans that Joe is objectively the worse. "Ive never trusted anyone less than Penn Badgley," stated a viewer. "My favourite feedback so far," was the actor's response.
Yeah I really should consult with my agent about this huh https://t.co/cmrr7wJo9f

However, it seems like Penn's using this weird romanticisation of Joe to prepare for second installment of the show. "The amount of people romanticising Penn Badgley’s character in YOU scares me," a fan wrote. "Ditto. It will be all the motivation I need for season 2," tweeted Penn.
