Former Sindh IGP Ghulam Hyder Jamali, former AIG Tanvir Tahir and others appeared before the court. The absence of the lawyers for the accused prompted the court's displeasure. The judge ordered the lawyers to come prepared for the next hearing.

The court had earlier granted interim bails to former AIG Fida Hussain and nine other accused.

The accused allegedly caused a loss of more than Rs150 million to the national exchequer by embezzling money from police feeding fund under the guise of deducting salaries of police officials and maintenance of police vehicles. The accused also gave contracts to people without tender.
