Three killed in Karachitraffic accidents

KARACHI:

At least three people, including a young child and a teenager, were killed and five others - four of them women - injured in separate traffic accidents across Karachi, police and rescue officials said on Wednesday.

A seven-year-old boy, Saad, died after a trailer ran over the motorcycle he was riding with a relative in Landhi's Dawood Chowrangi area. Police arrested the trailer driver and impounded the vehicle, while investigations are ongoing. Meanwhile, in Manghopir, a 15-year-old pedestrian, Nazim, was killed after being hit by a speeding loading truck. The driver fled the scene, though the vehicle was later seized by police.

Moreover, a 60-year-old man, Abdullah, lost his life after being struck by an unidentified vehicle whose driver escaped in Clifton Block four near Benazir Park.

In a separate accident, a passenger coach crashed into a parked trailer, leaving five people injured on Murtaza Chowrangi. The victims, including four women, were shifted to Jinnah Hospital for treatment. Police detained the coach driver.
