ISLAMABAD: Anchorperson Shahid Masood will be indicted in the Pakistan Television (PTV) corruption case on January 10.

The challan against Dr Masood was submitted in the Islamabad special court during the hearing of the case on Thursday.

The former PTV managing director Masood was presented before the court in handcuffs.

After submission of the challan, the court fixed January 10 for indictment of charges against the suspect while the court also approved an exemption plea of the co-accused in the case.

Dr Masood is accused of embezzling Rs38 million as managing director of PTV. He was arrested from the Islamabad Airport on November 23, 2018 after the court rejected his pre-arrest bail.

According to the Federal Investigation Agency, Dr Masood had signed an agreement with a fake company to get media rights of Pakistan Cricket Board. The officials had earlier said the PTV faced a huge financial loss due to the agreement.
