FAISALABAD:
Faisalabad Police on Tuesday managed to recover a female college student who been kidnapped for several days in Faisalabad.

Local police arrested the three suspected abductors from Madina Town in a raid.

The 22-year-old girl, who was a student at a local college was residing at the varsity's hostel.

The nabbed persons have been identified as Adeel, Shamshad and Afzal.


Initial interrogation reveals that the suspect identified as Adeel, who  works as arickshaw driver, confessed to kidnapping her after she fell unconscious.

Adeel along with other accomplices took her to a house in Madina Town where she was kept for several days.

Earlier on May  17 of last year, at least eight women, including five girls, were abducted from various parts of the same city within 24 hours.

In 2018, cases of sexual abuse were on the rise across Punjab with most of the cases being reported from Faisalabad, Rahim Yar Khan, Gujranwala and other parts of the province, according to a report issued by NGO Sahil.
