LAHORE: The National Highways and Motorways Police (NHMP) reunited a minor girl with her family on Saturday.

Reportedly, NHMP Khanewal received a call from the owner of a petrol station.

The owner said that a three-year-old child was wandering the area alone and was crying.

Officials reached the scene and took the girl into their custody. An examination of CCTV footage from the petrol station showed that the girl had disembarked from a silver vehicle and had subsequently been left behind by her parents who were in a hurry.

NHMP officials launched a search to find the child’s parents. Meanwhile, the 130 helpline received a call reporting the child missing. Officials managed to trace the child’s parents after hectic efforts and the child was handed over to the family.

The girl’s parents thanked officials for finding the child. NHMP Zonal Commander DIG Ahmed Arsalan Malik appreciated the efforts of the officials.
