DERA GAZI KHAN: The Anti-Corruption Department registered a case against five officials of the Fort Munro Development Authority (FMDA) in Dera Ghazi Khan for using poor material, making illegal appointments and embezzling millions of rupees in development projects.
The department has registered a case against the officials, including the FMDA director general.
A citizen of Fort Munor, Bakhtiyar Ahmed Bajrani, who submitted an application to the Anti-Corruption Department, said that the FMDA included their land of 190 canals to make a road in the area named Anari of Fort Munro. However, they were not provided any compensation.
He added that they also used substandard material in the construction of various roads due to which the government suffered losses of millions of rupees. The complainant added that poor quality streetlights were installed, while there was corruption in the purchase and maintenance of government vehicles.
According to the application, over 70 employees of a security company were working at the houses of these officials instead of performing duties at FMDA, which was paying their salaries.
After receiving the application, a case was registered at the anti-corruption police station against the FMDA Director General Asfand Yar Junjua, Director Engineering Zahid Rafiq, Deputy Director Abdul Majeed, Deputy Director F and A Anum Hafiz, SDO Mohammad Shafqat, Deputy Director Audit Nadeem Sohail, Consultant Saleem Akbar, Accounts Officer Mohsin Hayat and Audit Officer Samar Abbas.
