Reopened cases: ATC again directs jail officials to produce May 12 accused

The court expressed its annoyance over the jail official's failure to produce the accused yet again

KARACHI:
A special anti-terrorism court (ATC-2) directed jail officials on Friday to produce the accused of the 12 reopened cases of May 12 incident in court at the next hearing.

The court expressed its annoyance over the jail official's failure to produce the accused yet again. Mirza Naseeb Baig alias Rizwan Chapati, Raees Mama and Umair Siddiqui were supposed to be presented before the court on Friday.


Out of the 12 A-Class cases of May 12, eight were transferred to ATC-2 along with four others which were already under trial in ATC-2. Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar and 21 others are nominated in these four cases. The court has indicted Akhtar and others.
