Nishter Hospital: 18 ICU ventilators out of order
Hospital administration had bought 12 ventilators last year

As many as 18 out of 25 ventilators at the Intensive Care Unit of the Nishtar Hospital Multan are out of order. The hospital administration had bought 12 ventilators last year and eight of them developed faults only after 22 days of installation.
Two of them again became dysfunctional after a few months. Head of Anesthesia Department, Nishtar Medical University Dr Munir Ahmad Chaudhry said the hospital had purchased 40 ventilators in 2014 and admitted that 18 of them were not functioning currently. He said that a team of three Chinese experts had reached Multan to repair the faulty ventilators.
