LAHORE: The Enforcement Wing of the Lahore Transport Company (LTC) had challaned 147,000 public service vehicles on different violations of public transport laws in 2018.

The company imposed penalties of public service vehicles on various violations, including overcharging, unavailability of fitness certificate and route permit, smoke emitting vehicles and on use of pressure horns causing a public nuisance.

By incorporating notions of corporate social responsibility, the company issued 9,756 free transport cards to the senior and differently-abled citizens, of which 7,585 free transport cards issued to senior male citizens while 1,078 to female senior citizens, hence 1,093 free transport cards imparted to disabled male and female persons. The company issued 5,058 discounted student green cards to the male and female students of public sector schools, colleges and universities to avail concessional transport facilities in the LTC buses.
