Armed women rob house in Sector I-14, stab house owner’s wife

A police officer was killed and another was injured on Monday when they responded to a call about an armed robbery at a house in Sector I-8.
According to the police, Constable Muhammad Waseem and Muhammad Arif were out on patrol on a police ‘falcon’ in Sector I-8/3. At this moment, a call came in on the police helpline, Rescue 15, that four armed robbers had barged into a house in lane 69 of Sector I-8/3 and were busy robbing the place.
The two constables, who were closest to the incident, rushed to the spot.
When they arrived at the house, the armed robbers fired on the two cops. Waseem, who was shot in the head, died on the spot while Arif also suffered a bullet wound.

The robbers then managed to escape. The two cops were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) for treatment where Waseem was pronounced dead and his body was sent to the morgue for an autopsy.
After the incident, the police cordoned off the area to search for the suspects, but the robbers could not be traced.
According to a police spokesperson, after attacking the cops, the robbers had snatched a motorbike from a passerby and fled.
The Sector I-9 police have registered a case for the incident.
Waseem, who officials said is the father of five children, is a resident of Dhoke Hassu in Rawalpindi and is expected to be buried there.
His funeral was offered at police lines later on Monday which was attended by a large number of police officers.
Meanwhile, State Minister for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi visited Pims to inquire about the health of injured constable Arif.
Afridi met with the family of the constable and assured them that all available resources will be utilised to nab the culprits soon.
On the martyrdom of Constable Waseem, Afridi said that such a tragedy with the nation's brave soldier was unbearable.

"Protecting the lives and property of citizens is a responsibility of the state and we shall deliver and ensure justice to the people," he said.

In an unusual act of robbery in the federal capital, two armed women barged into a house and stole valuables, including jewellery and Rs0.14 million in cash.
Upon resistance from the residents of the house, the armed women stabbed a woman, injuring her severely.
In a complaint filed with the Noon police station, Gul Zeb, the husband of the victim, stated that he was away when two armed women barged into his Sector I-14 house.
He added that the women allegedly held his wife hostage and robbed jewellery, cash and mobile phones.
When his wife tried to resist the robbers, Zeb said, the women stabbed his wife, injuring her severely. The Noon police registered Zeb’s complaint but have yet to make any headway in tracing the armed women.
