Learning in jail: 344 Kot Lakhpat prisoners sit exams
The chief minister and prisons chief had stressed that inmates get a quality education.
LAHORE:
A total of 344 prisoners of Kot Lakhpat Central Jail sat various examinations for degrees ranging from middle school level to masters of arts, Deputy Inspector General of Prisons Mirza Shahid Saleem Baig said on Sunday. He said that eight convicts each had sat the MA and BA exams of Punjab University while 58 had sat the FA exams, 81 the matric exams and 30 the middle school exams of the Lahore Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education. The chief minister and prisons chief had stressed that inmates get a quality education so they can become useful citizens upon their release.
