QUETTA: A levies force soldier lost his life due to alleged negligence of doctors at District Headquarter (DHQ) Hospital in Kalat on Friday.

According to sources, Khalil Ahmed, the personnel of levies force, visited the district headquarter hospital for medical treatment owing to severe pain in chest. But negligence and non-serious attitude of doctors in dealing with the patient took his life.

Gulam Sarwar, the brother of the deceased while speaking with newsman said, “My brother Khalil Ahmed complained about sharp pain in his chest. We took him to district headquarter Hospital Kalat for medical treatment, but there were no doctors on duty in the emergency unit.”

The representative of Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam (JUI-F), Maulana Mohammad Qasim Lehri strongly condemned the incident in his press conference, saying the incident was a major case of negligence on part of doctors and other staff in the hospital.

Lehri said, though the patient was not in critical condition, carelessness of doctors, who failed to deal with the patient in time, took his life.

Family members of the deceased demanded a detailed investigation against the Medical Superintendent (MS) and other staff for their ‘criminal negligence’.
