FAISALABAD: A man opened fire on his sister and brother-in-law for marrying of their own free will in Faisalabad, Express News reported on Thursday.
An official from Sadar Samundri police station said that Ghulam Hussain, a resident of Chak no 474-GB, and Pathani Bibi liked each other.
He added that the couple tied the knot against the will of the woman’s family. He maintained that the woman’s brother Amanullah was not happy with the marriage and decided to take revenge, believing his sister had brought disgrace to the family.
The official maintained that on the day of the incident, accused Amanullah barged into the couple’s home and opened fire on them. As a result, Ghulam Hussain and Pathani Bibi sustained bullet injuries.

The victims were shifted to Allied Hospital in critical condition. The police have registered a case and started investigations.
Earlier on December 15, a man allegedly gunned down his sister in the Faisalabad’s Nishatabad police station jurisdiction.
A police official said that Waseem Akhtar, a resident of Chak No 50-GB, submitted a complaint at the police station, stating that he married Kainat Bibi in court nine months ago. He added the two liked each other and married against the will of the woman’s family members.
He stated that on the day of the incident, he, Tanveer Shahzad and Muhammad Irfan were present at his house, while his wife was working in the kitchen.
After some time, his brother-in-law Nasir Ali barged into the house and and opened fire on Kainat Bibi, killing her on the spot.
