FAISALABAD: In another incident of ‘honour’ killing, a man allegedly gunned down his sister in the Nishatabad police station jurisdiction, Express News reported on Friday.

A police official said that Waseem Akhtar, a resident of Chak No 50-GB, submitted a complaint at the police station, stating that he married Kainat Bibi in court nine months ago. He added the two liked each other and married against the will of the woman’s family members.

He stated that on the day of the incident, he, Tanveer Shahzad and Muhammad Irfan were present at his house, while his wife was working in the kitchen.

After some time, his brother-in-law Nasir Ali barged into the house and told the victim that she had brought disgrace to the family by marrying of her own will.

Waseem revealed that the accused took out a pistol and opened fire on Kainat Bibi. He recalled the victim fell on the ground and died on the spot. He stated that after committing the murder, Nasir fled the scene. Meanwhile, the Nishatabad police have registered a case against the culprit and started investigations.

Earlier, a woman and her friend were allegedly shot dead in Jhang’s Saddar area.

The police said that 24-year-old *F had a friendship with 30-year-old I*.  They used to meet at different places, while their families did not know about their relationship.

On the day of the incident, the woman went to her friend’s house to meet him. In the meantime, the woman’s father and other family members came to know about the matter. In a fit of rage, the woman’s father Iqbal, uncle Yaseen and two cousins killed them.
