Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa joined Christian community in Rawalpindi on Tuesday to share the joy and festivities of Christmas, said an Inter-Services Public Relations statement.

The army chief wished the country’s Christians a Merry Christmas and acknowledged the community’s role towards the creation of Pakistan and their contributions towards the country’s progress.

He was welcomed by a congregation which later thanked him for joining the celebrations.

Bajwa appreciated the role of various institutions in the fields of education, health and public welfare being managed by Christian community across Pakistan. “He especially acknowledged their contributions in defence of the motherland as part of Pakistan Armed Forces,” added ISPR.
