Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Monday that no load-shedding would take place across the country on Tuesday (tomorrow) for Christmas.
The power authority instructed the electricity distribution companies (DISCOs) to lift scheduled load management across the country.
Premier Imran made the decision to enable the Christian community to celebrate their religious festival.
Christmas festivities all set to begin
All DISCOs have been directed to depute special emergency teams to rectify any fault on the occasion.
The distribution firms have also been directed to specially monitor and make necessary arrangements, including provision of emergency generators for the feeders providing electricity to Churches to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the religious services.
As Christmas is just hours away, the community has started thronging shopping malls in order to buy clothes and gifts for their relatives.
The Christmas community are also busy decorating their houses with Christmas trees, while events related to the occasion have been organised at various locations.
Moreover, Premier Imran took to the microblogging website, Twitter, wishing the Christian community “a happy and peaceful Christmas”.
