HYDERABAD:
The Sindh Education Department has planned to recruit 8,750 teachers, including the head teachers, for government schools in the province. Sindh Education Secretary Qazi Shahid Pervaiz disclosed this while speaking at an education festival in Sanghar district on Saturday.

According to him, in a phased recruitment process, 6,000 junior school teachers, 1,100 early childhood education teachers, 1,000 headmasters of BPS-17 and 650 science teachers will be appointed. "The education department is also reviewing the National Testing Service (NTS) test with the intent to make it simpler so that more applicants can qualify the test for appointment on the teaching jobs," said the secretary.

He asserted that the Sindh government is working with a commitment to improve the standard of education and provide facilities to teachers. He asked the teachers to realise their responsibility and to impart education with commitment to the children of this country.

Pervaiz acknowledged the problems pertaining to school infrastructure in Sanghar district. He informed that Rs100 million will be spent, in the ongoing fiscal year, on the school buildings in Sanghar. He also informed that the education department will spend Rs2 billion this year to procure furniture for the government schools.
