Referring to a news story titled “Auditors term OGRA chairperson’s hiring illegal”, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority, while quoting the Law Division, says Uzma Adil was appointed Ogra chairperson after her retirement from Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL). “The issue of conflict of interest is relatable during the term of office. In our view her holding the office in SNGPL prior to her appointment as chairperson does not raise the issue of conflict of interest as she had already severed connection having been retired from the position held in SNGPL,” Ogra says quoting the Law Division.
