Campus Security: Rangers withdraw, return to KU?
Rangers had withdrawn their patrol from campus on Friday night without giving the administration any reason.
KARACHI:
According to a Karachi University spokesperson, Qamar Rizvi, the paramilitary Rangers withdrew their patrol from campus on Friday night without giving the administration any reason.
Since the university had an exam on Saturday morning they requested police security which was granted.
When the media raised the matter, the Rangers denied having left the university at all, said Rizvi. They later returned to their pickets at around 3 pm on Saturday again, he confirmed.
While Rizvi did not give the exact number of personnel deployed for safety on campus, he said that they have been in charge of safety at the university since 1989.
