Athletics: Ex-European champion Caliandro dies
He died in a motorcycling accident.

Italian middle-distance runner Cosimo Caliandro, who won the European indoor 3,000-metre title in 2007, was killed in a motorcycling accident. The fatal crash happened at Francavilla Fontana, near Brindisi, when the 29-year-old was involved in a head-on collision with a car. Caliandro had also been European junior champion over 1,500m in 2001.
