Two escape rape attempts in Faisalabad

Both victims screamed for help compelling culprits to escape

At least two youngsters escaped rape attempts in different areas of Faisalabad on Tuesday, Express News reported.

In the first incident, police said that R*, a resident of Chak No 234, went to collect wood from a nearby market, leaving her 12-year-old daughter K* alone in the house.

Taking advantage of the situation, accused Altaf and his accomplice barged into the home and tried to rape the child. However, the girl screamed and shouted for help. After hearing a hue and cry, people from the neighbourhood reached the spot and tried to catch the culprits. However, both suspects managed to escape from the scene.

In another incident, 10-year-old R*, a resident of Chak No 218, was on his way to a nearby shop to buy milk when accused Shamun abducted him. The culprit took the victim to nearby fields and tried to sexually abuse him. However, the boy raised a hue and cry compelling the suspect to flee from the spot.

Meanwhile, police have registered separate cases at different police stations and have opened investigations.

Earlier, a man tried to rape a woman in Chak No 84, Rahim Yar Khan. The police said that accused Saleem barged into the house of N* in Chak No 84 while she was alone in the house. The culprit tried to sexually assault the woman but she raised a hue and cry. As a result, people from the neighbourhood reached the spot and tried to catch the culprit. However, he managed to flee the scene.
