Rejoinder: SNGPL says it faces more constraints
The impression of lower utilisation of assets by the company is not correct
Referring to an article titled “Gas companies seek price revision as losses increase” published in The Express Tribune, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has said that the company is working under more constraints compared to its sister concern.
Therefore, it says, the impression of lower utilisation of assets by the company is not correct. Apart from this, SNGPL says, the unaccounted-for-gas (UFG) level of the company is determined by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) annually.
According to the last Ogra determination, the company’s UFG for financial year 2016-17 was 8.07% whereas the UFG level for 2017-18 is yet to be finalised by the regulator. SNGPL terms the quoted 11.8% UFG level incorrect.
