KARACHI:
In Pakistan, every year around 200,000 students pass their intermediate examination but only 40,000 students are accommodated in the 180 universities of the country for higher education while around 160,000 are deprived of attaining higher education at the university level which pushes them towards wrong paths.

"It is the responsibility of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the education ministry to find a viable solution for this burning issue so that every youth of this country can be provided with a chance to pursue higher education without any hurdles, which is their [youth's] fundamental right," said Mohammad Ali Jinnah University (MAJU) President Dr Zubair Shaikh while addressing students and parents at an open house session on Saturday.
