Provincial administration: CM’s Secretariat gets less than last year’s spending
Chief secretary’s post, created last year, has been abolished.

The allocation for the Chief Minister’s Secretariat has been decreased to Rs266.419 from the revised estimate of Rs324. 647 million for the previous year.
Allocation for the CM’s secretariat in 2009-2010 budget was Rs165.323 million. The amount was revised to Rs292.526 million and then Rs324. 647 million.
The staff strength at CM’s Secretariat has been increased by one employee to 933. The subordinate staff will now have 822 workers rather than last year’s 817.
The post of chief secretary, created last year, has been abolished. Five posts of officers in special scales have also been abolished.
This year the Punjab government has allocated Rs147.054 million for cabinet members. The cabinet members include the chief minister, four advisers, 16 ministers, 35 parliamentary secretaries and two special assistants.
Rs64.857 million has been allocated for non-development spending at Governor’s Secretariat compared to Rs49.812 for the previous year.
Governor’s Secretariat has as many as 183 employees including 24 officers.
Governor’s House has been separately allocated Rs95.33 million. The Governor’s House has 24 officers working for it.
The strength of subordinate staff has been reduced to 265 from 274.
The allocation for the CM inspection team (CMIT) has been increased to Rs50.868 million from the spending of chief minister’s compared to the previous year’s Rs41.601 million. The strength of the CMIT has been fixed at 113 employees including 26 officers and 87 subordinates.
Rs71.253 million has been set aside for VIP flights against Rs67.073 million allocated last year.
Aviation department has been allocated Rs79.268 million separately compared to Rs73.606 million allocated in the corresponding year.
