MIAN CHANNU:

In a gruesome incident, a man murdered his friend in a bid to steal his cars in Mian Channu, Express News has learnt.

An official of Farid Town police station said that Bahawal, a resident of    R-93/6 Village, had a friendship with Muhammad Tahir of the same area. He added that Tahir was a mechanic by profession and was also involved in selling and purchasing vehicles.

He revealed that Bahawal owned two expensive cars and Tahir wanted to get ahold of them. He pointed out that on the day of the incident, both men went to Pakpattan to sell a car when Tahir strangled Bahawal to death and threw his body in Lower Bari Doab Canal.

After committing the murder, the suspect fled the scene. Later, the police nabbed the culprit over suspicion and shifted him to the police station. During interrogation, the accused confessed to murdering the victim. The police have registered a case and started investigations.

Earlier, a man shot and killed his sister and her friend in Sheikhupura.

Police said Najma and Ali used to attend the same academy in Shahdara where they had befriended each other. After a few months of being friends, the two fell in love.

Najma would often speak to Ali over the phone. This made her brother Ahsan and family members suspicious and they demanded an explanation. When they found out about her intentions to marry Ali, they tried to dissuade her and even resorted to physical abuse to try and change her mind. Despite their objections, Najma refused to budge and threatened to run away from home in order to get married.

This prompted her father and her brothers to hatch a plan. They persuaded her to call Ali over for dinner by telling her they wished to discuss wedding arrangements. When Ali reached their house, Ahsan shot him in the head. Afterwards, he also shot and killed his sister.
