He said that he was happy that Iqra University had emerged as an outstanding educational institute where the youth were being provided modern educational facilities. IU Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr Wasim Qazi said that the varsity would be completing its 20 years soon and in that time had managed to not only acquire a top position in Higher Education Commission's (HEC) list of universities but also received educational sponsorship from the world renowned Harvard Business School. He added that IU was country's first varsity to boast of smart class rooms, providing students with all the facilities they need. He said that IU was an organisation that aims to strengthen cooperation in society.

The VC told the students that they were entering their professional lives and said that by choosing to work for the interest and benefit of the country they could help ensure the country's progress.

"This is the way that we can fulfil the dream of being a welfare state".

He said that history shows that the secret behind any nations' prosperity lies in the acquisition of education. "Nations who focused on achieving education and made education their priority, success and prosperity became their destiny. But the unfortunate ones who did not gave importance to education, most part of their history passed in conflicts. Failure became their fate and they drowned in the darkness of disgrace and humiliation," he added.
