ISLAMABAD:
In order to ensure implementation of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) recommendations, the noose around the non-profit organisations (NPOs) has been tightened.

According to a document available with Express, new rules have been prepared for NPOs.

Under the new rules, political activities and contacts with outlawed organisations would be banned and all record of donors and receivers of funds would have to be maintained.

They would not take part in any activity against national interest and the NPOs would not be able to conduct any research or survey irrelevant to their work otherwise their licence would be cancelled.

Organisations would not take any fund in any foreign currency.

In case of violence their licence would be cancelled.

The document further states that organisations would keep the data of their employees, ensure transparency in financial matters and maintain record.
