The provincial government on Sunday decided to provide full security to the Christian community during Christmas celebrations in Balochistan.

Chairing a meeting to review the security plan for Christmas, Home Minister Saleem Khosa said the provincial government would utilise all available resources to provide maximum security to the Christian community on the occasion.

Minority MPAs Titus Johnson and Dinesh Kumar, Quetta Commissioner Hashim Ghalzai, DIG Abdul Razzaq Cheema and Deputy Commissioner Zafar Abbasi reviewed the security plan for Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Khosa said the government of Balochistan was responsible for providing a peaceful environment to all minorities observing their religious events.

“Though in previous years lethal attacks on minorities’ religious places claimed the lives of several people in Balochistan, this year the provincial government has made strict security arrangements for Christmas across the province,” Khosa said. “Due to sacrifice of armed forces peace has been restored in the province,” he said.

MPA Johnson said the Christian community had rendered colossal sacrifices for the country and would continue to remain steadfast for peace and prosperity of Pakistan.
