LAHORE:
Armed men shot dead a 25-year-old woman within the jurisdiction of Raiwind police station on Sunday.

According to police, the victim, identified as Tahira Bibi, had gone to a beauty parlour to get ready for her Mehndi function with her sister.

The unidentified suspects intercepted them and opened fire at Tahira. She suffered bullet injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead.

Police said the motive behind the killing has yet to be ascertained.

They collected forensic evidence from the crime scene and recorded statements of the eye-witnesses. Police have also registered a case and are looking for suspects.

In a separate incident, a 10-year-old girl died when a speeding passenger bus rammed into a rickshaw on Sunday.

Angry residents caught the driver and beat him up before handing him over to the police. The body was shifted to a nearby hospital.
