ISLAMABAD:
Two shopkeepers in Islamabad allegedly beat mother and aunt of a child and tore down their clothes after slapping the kid in public.

Azmat Bibi said that her young son was playing in Sector G-12, when Samar, the accused, not only gave him a dressing down but also slapped him.

After coming to know of the incident, she went along with her younger sister to his shop to discuss the matter. But, the suspect, along with a man identified as Ali, physically assaulted them and in the process tore their clothes apart in public.

She said at first the police refused to register the case against the suspects. However, after a session's court orders, the authorities decided to follow through.

The police have not made any arrests till the filing of this report.

Earlier on Friday, a man suffered severe burn injuries when motorcycle riders threw acid on him over a dispute in Bahawalpur. The incident occurred in the City Ahmedpur East police station precincts.

SHO Absar Hussain said that the 28-year-old Muhammad Amir, a resident of Moza Sakheel, Basti Ghareebabad, was on his way for some work. That is when four culprits, riding two motorcycles, intercepted him.
