Ku Conference: Academia demand role in policy-making

KARACHI: The experts, at the concluding ceremony of the two-day international conference titled “The new trends in social sciences and humanities in the contemporary world, with reference to the world peace order,” at KU recommended that government seek assistance of scholars while preparing foreign and interior policies of the country. They should take advantage of research being conducted in the country in the field of social sciences, they said.

The resolution also said that the government and people both could take economical, moral, legal and social benefits through social sciences. The scholars demanded induction of ‘studies of peace’ in all higher educational institutions of the country.

The experts said that teachers, while educating their students regarding promotion of peace, could defeat terrorism and extremism.

The Philippines Honorary Consul General Dr Imran Yousuf Muhammad said that Pakistan’s growth  depends upon peace within the country.
