Wildlife dept to increase facilities at parks
Initiative will help spread awareness on protection of animals

The Punjab Wildlife and Parks Department has decided to provide more recreational facilities at parks across the province.
Keeping in view the interest of the people, the department has also decided to increase the number of parks. These facilities would also help spread awareness on the protection of wildlife. All the in charge officers of the parks have been directed to submit their recommendations to the head office within a week.
The decision was taken in a meeting headed by Punjab Wildlife and Parks Department Director General Sanaullah. Wildlife Headquarters Deputy Director Deputy Director Muhammad Naeem Bhatti Wildlife Lahore Region Deputy Director Zafarul Hasan, Publicity Deputy Director Amir Masood, Planning Assistant Director Mudasir Hasan and regional officers from all over the province attended the meeting.
He added that the administration would provide more recreational facilities, especially for children, such as camel and horse rides and also hold animal shows.
Sanaullah maintained that painting and declamation contests should be held to highlight the importance of wildlife. He directed authorities to distribute brochures about birds and animal available to visitors, especially children, to spread awareness.
