The hearing of Orangi Town pilot project's director Perween Rehman's murder case was held at the special court in Karachi Central Jail. Accused Raheem Swati and others were present in court. The court expressed its anger over the absence of the victim's sister and other witnesses, and issued bailable arrest warrants for them.
The hearing was adjourned till December 7. Court declared accused, Noor Muhammad and Ahsanul Deen, as absconders. Rahman was on the way to her office when she was targeted on March 13, 2013.
Separately, the defence lawyer completed cross-examination of the police witness in the prosecutor Naimat Ali Randhawa murder case.
Accused Muttahida Qaumi Movement workers, Kaazim Abbas Rizvi and Noman, appeared in court. The lawyer for the accused, Advocate Mohammad Jiwani, completed arguments on the statement of witness. Court adjourned the hearing till December 11. Three MQM workers have been declared absconders in the case. The accused allegedly killed Wali Khan Babar murder case's prosecutor Naimat ali Randhawa in Nazimabad in 2013.
