Second notification names seven appointees in the directorate
ISLAMABAD:
After having announced reorganisation plans last month, the federal government has started the process of sending teachers, on deputation in the education directorate, back to their schools.
Following directions from Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) Director General Dr Ali Ahmed Kharal, the directorate has issued a notification regarding the transfer of eight officers to their original posts, including five teachers who were deployed at the deputy director level including Administration Deputy Director Rana Muhammad Nazir, Budget Deputy Director Chaudhry Gulzar and Schools Deputy Director Samina Zia.
In the first phase of this process, the FDE has sent back Training Deputy Director Safina Insaf, Boys School Deputy Director Amjad Hussain, Colleges Deputy Director Sahabzada Saleem, Legal Deputy Director Intikhab Hussain and Coordination Deputy Director Inam Jahangir.

In a second notification, the FDE has appointed Muhammad Luqman as the deputy director for colleges, Naveed Anjum as the counsel for the PM’s portal, Hasan Imran Baig as the new deputy director for coordination, Nadeem Taj as the new deputy director for information technology (IT) department, Saleem Awan as the director general technical, Yasir Arafat Chhatta as the deputy director for the quality enhancement cell and the spokesperson for the FDE.
Dr Zafar Iqbal has been given the responsibility of deputy director planning along with the additional responsibilities in development and estate management.
Commenting on the nepotism in the FDE which triggered the decision to send the teachers back, Dr Kharal said that some officers of the directorate had been sent on deputation to different departments but they were preparing memos which would call for their retrieval.
He assured that the teachers will be sent back at the educational institutions without any discrimination.
Dr Kharal, formerly a principal of the Sector G-6/3 boys college, had been appointed as the permanent head of the FDE late last month.
He had stated that they had found that a number of teachers employed by different schools in the capital were deployed elsewhere. But now, they have compiled a list of all the teachers who are working in different departments on deputation and that all of these teachers will be sent back to their schools in phases.
According to sources, over 50 employees of the federal directorate have been performing their duties on a temporary basis.
Moreover, in a bid to improve the quality of education imparted in government-run schools and colleges of the federal capital, it has been decided that the model and federal government colleges will be now run by a single wing of the education directorate.
