LGH establishes new gynecology ward

Admin says patients will be assured best possible treatment

Lahore General Hospital has started a new 50-bed gynecology ward in another step towards a patient-friendly setup.
Doctors, nurses and paramedical staff, with assigned duties, had been deployed at this ward. LGH Principal Professor Dr Mohammad Tayyab, Medical Superintendent Dr Mahmood Salahuddin, Head of Gynecology Department Professor Aliya Basheer, Director Administration Dr Rana Mohammad Shafique and other doctors took a round of the new ward. They reviewed the arrangements completed for the patients.

They were briefed by the administration about the workings of this ward and assured that every patient would be provided the best possible medical treatment.
Principal Lahore General Hospital Prof Dr Mohammad Tayyab said that by adding this unit, more women would be accommodated, especially in cases of child delivery. He added modern and extensive health services would be provided to them.
He said that as per the vision of the present government, each section of the hospital is being brought at par with the most modern and sophisticated facilities. The principal said the aim was to ensure every citizen could be provided the health services without any discrimination.
Dr Tayyab disclosed that in the coming days, more steps would be taken to this end and some other departments of LGH would be extended. He said that these steps were being taken to provide direct assistance to the common man. Previously, there were only 2 gyne departments were working at the Lahore General Hospital. Tayyab thanked Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid and the government for sanctioning the third unit.
