KARACHI:
The Korean company, S&H Global, and KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) Karachi organised a two-day training workshop, "Korean Beauty Academy in Karachi 2018", for Pakistan's women, on Sunday and Monday at Movenpick Hotel and Rose Beauty College. The purpose of the workshop was to support the economic independence and create jobs for Pakistani women.

This training workshop was designed to solve the social problems faced by women in Pakistan by introducing advanced skincare solution systems and training programmes for the existing and potential female employees in skincare and beauty sector in Karachi.

More than 160 women attended the workshop , which gave them a chance to aquire skincare solution skills and engage in practical training with Korean skincare products donated by S&H Global.

The trainees would sustain their jobs by improving skills and job seekers will have an opportunity to be hired in the field. Furthermore, eventually, consumers will be made aware of advanced skincare solution systems through the trainees, which will improve the quality of life and health.

One of major Pakistani NGOs, Bunyad Foundation, was a key partner in the event. They sent over 20 job aspirants who needed to learn advanced beauty skills for their career.

S&H Global Chief Executive Officer Pan Sa Hong said that he designed this programme with KOTRA Karachi as it would make Pakistan's consumers more aware of advanced and quality skincare products. He believed that Korean skincare products have great potential in the Pakistani market as women are getting more prone to value-driven consumption patterns when it comes to buying cosmetics. Since many women have been employed in the sector, training programmes for improving awareness of Korean cosmetics would contribute to solving social issues such as poverty elimination through economic independence and skill development.

Bunyad Foundation Vice Chairperson Shaheen Attiqur Rahman said she was obliged for this kind of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) event that empowers women.

Sanjh Preet Organisation Programmes Director Shahzad Hussain, who is also the former CEO of Bunyad Foundation, said that for a CSR event, synergy among corporate, civil society and government is indispensable to contribute towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
