PM Imran vows to transform lives of differently-abled persons

All practical steps will be taken for children suffering from disabilities, says Shafqat Mehmood

Prime Minister Imran Khan reiterated the government's resolve to transforming lives of differently-abled persons by offering them equal opportunities in education and employment, Radio Pakistan reported on Monday.

Differently-abled persons fund gets major boost

The tweet by the premier, on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, added that a bill is being devised to empower and enable differently-abled persons.




Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mehmood also said that practical steps shall be taken for children suffering from disabilities.

Judges told to expedite cases of differently-abled people

Mehmood added that such children deserve special care and that they will be fully facilitated. He further said that accessibility will be ensured for easy and safe access of such persons at public places and buildings.

In November, Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Muhammad Anwaarul Haq ordered all district and sessions judges of the province to give preferential treatment to the early hearing of cases of differently-abled litigants.
