ISLAMABAD:
Following last week’s attack on the Chinese consulate in Karachi which left around four people dead, security around the Chinese embassy in Islamabad has been beefed up.

This was disclosed in a meeting between the Islamabad Police Inspector General (IGP) Aamir Zulfiqar and Chinese Police Attaché Wang Yong on Wednesday. Chinese Police Councilor Ping Yunufi, Security DIG Waqar Ahmed Chohan, Security SSP Muhammad Suleman were also present in the meeting.

IGP Zulfiqar told the Chinese security team that apart from enhancing security around the embassy, an extra contingent of police personnel have been deployed who maintain a strict patrol around the facility.

Earlier, DIG Chohan and SSP Suleman had visited the Chinese embassy and discussed security issues with the deputy attaché.
