Directorate of Revenue of the CDA has extended its office timing to collect revenue from tax payers.
ISLAMABAD:
Directorate of Revenue of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has extended its office timing to collect revenue from the tax payers during the closing month (June) of the fiscal year.
The annual budget for the civic agency would be announced soon and property tax and other revenues would be the main source of income. To achieve this goal, the city mangers have finalised the arrangements to widen the “tax-net” for the year 2011-12.
Chairman of the agency, Imtiaz Inayat Elahi also directed the Finance Wing of CDA to take concrete measures and formulate a comprehensive strategy to enhance the tax collection and achieve the targets fixed for the current fiscal year. Spokesperson for CDA, Ramzan Sajid confirmed the development and said that it was not a viable option for CDA to sale out valuable land to provide facilities to tax payers. This year, CDA would collect maximum revenue from property tax and other such revenues.
“Chairman CDA has directed the Revenue Directorate to increase the office timings by an hour during the month of June so that the taxpayers could deposit their dues,” Sajid added. Now the directorate will remain functional during the month of June from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
He said that CDA is making concrete efforts to provide the best possible facilities to the residents of the city however they are expected to pay their taxes in a timely manner to help boost these efforts of the authority.
