Tarlai hospital: Govt secures land for 200-bed facility

ISLAMABAD:
Weeks after the federal health minister announced that a hospital was being built to service the residents of rural areas of the federal capital, he has said that land for the project has been secured. This was disclosed by the National Health Service Regulation and Coordination Minister Aamer Mehmood Kiani on Monday while speaking to a delegation of Saudi Arabian officials led by Abdullah Al Shoebi to discuss the construction of the 200-bedded hospital and to fast-track the entire process. During the meeting, it was briefed that the 200-bed Islamabad General Hospital at Tarlai, to be built on land measuring around 13.07 acres, will be established at a cost of Rs2.5 billion. Kiani said that the project is located at the junction of Park Road and Lehtrar Road at Tramari Chowk in Islamabad. He added that the project will help decrease the patient load on the two tertiary care hospitals in the city including the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) and the Federal Government Hospital (Polyclinic). The minister further said that the premises for the project has been secured and is ready for construction.
