T-Cross picket: Two men with Kalashnikovs, bullets arrested

Police stopped a car during routine checking at T Cross and found the two in possession of ammunition

ISLAMABAD:
Police on Saturday arrested two suspects and recovered arms and ammunition from a vehicle during checking at T Cross amid heightened security, a spokesman of police said on Saturday.

According to Sihala police, they stopped a car during routine checking at T Cross and found the two people in the vehicle carrying two Kalashnikovs, a pistol and huge amount of ammunition.


The suspects identified as Ali Akbar Khan a resident of district Gujrat and Noor Ahmed Qamar a resident of Sector F/10 Islamabad were taken into custody and shifted to Sihala police station, an official statement said. Police have booked the duo for possession of illegal weapons and started investigating.

SSP Operations Waqaruddin Sayed appreciated performance of the officers and personnel who were part of the team and announced commendation certificates and cash prizes for them.
