10-year-old girl subjected to sexual assault
Accused took S* to the fields and committed the offence

A 10-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted in Khanpur, Express News reported on Friday.
The police said that victim’s mother SB*, a resident of Moza Chandia, lodged a complaint at the police station in which she stated that her TV was not working. Therefore, she called her relative Abu Harira to take it to the shop for repair.
She added that the accused reached their home and took the TV and her daughter S* along with him to the shop. She maintained that after a few hours, S* did not return home and she got worried.
The mother revealed that she and other people went looking for the girl. She stated that during the search, one of the locals told them that he saw the girl going with the suspect to the nearby fields. She mentioned that they immediately rushed to the spot and heard screams coming from the fields.
The victim’s mother revealed that when they got closer, they saw the accused sexually abusing S*. She said locals caught the man and handed him over to the police. The mother demanded the police to punish him sternly for committing such a heinous act.
The police registered a case against under Section 376 against the suspect and started an investigation.
Earlier, an eight-year-old madrassa student was sexually abused by two influential men in Rahim Yar Khan’s Shedani Sharif area.
A police official said that the boy, a resident of Fazalabad, was on his way to the madrassa when Sohail and Naeem abducted him and took him to a campsite. The accused allegedly sexually assaulted the victim and from fled the scene after committing the offence.
A report compiled by NGO Sahil revealed that in 2017, an average of more than nine children were subjected to sexual violence, nationwide, on a daily basis.
The report paints a distressing portrait of the situation. Statistics presented in the document showed child sexual abuse continued to persist, thus rubbishing government claims of better child protection standards. The document also revealed that children between 6 to 10 and 11 to 15 years of age were the most vulnerable to sexual abuse.
